I have had no claims, no tickets, no points on my lisence. Im Fully Comprehensive, live in a good area, have no criminal record, and park my car on the drive. I have my father, a Police Officer with 30 years no claims and 30 years experience as a named driver on my insurance. My Insurance last year was 1400 (steep yeah) and now its up for renewal i have had a quote of 1100. To me, this seems really steep seeing as surely by now i have proved that i am not some boy racer with a deathwish. Just this Monday I found out I was pregnant. Two Clear Blue PREGNANT's, and I was bawling in the Target bathroom. I've just passed my test. But, the next thing is a car, but the main problem is the insurance... I've looked at companies that offer a smart box which supposedly lowers the insurance, but i'm going to have to be the main driver on the policy and with a box through co-op I was quoted 5000! If I crashed, or the police pulled me for some reason then I would be insured, so what could they do? Parents are saying insurance will cost around $300 a month! excluding the car payment which will be around $200 a month. For some reason, I don't believe them what so ever with the cost of the insurance. I do have to get full coverage insurance. But thats just ridiculous. New drivers, how much do you pay for insurance. Only answer if your on your own plan.

Proof of insurance in Texas?

I know this may sound irresponsible, but I have recieved two tickets in the past month in two seperate locations within Texas. The first ticket I received was for not coming to a complete stop and having my old insurance card because I left the new one which was sitting at home. I sent this ticket to my attorney to take care of. Then two weeks late I get a speeding ticket in a small district which I took care of myself right away and now taking a defensive driving course to clear it from my record. I now get news that the first ticket I obtained couldnt be cleared by my attorney and that I have to do defensive driving for the stop sign which I cant because I am already taking it and do deffered ajudification for my insurance which I had even though it was not present at the time. The question I have is, will my insurance ticket be dismissed if I show proof that I indeed had it at the time and would I be able to do deffered ajudification for the stop sign fine instead? These are the first two tickets I have ever received and I am pretty clueless on how the process works. Any help would be great.

Hi I'm 18 in a month, and I'm buying a car on finance and I am paying because it will be my car. My dad will use it the same amount as I will be using it until I have it paid off then it will be completely mine.
